From housing governance to governance for a changed world.
21CHG began as 21st Century Housing Governance: a specialist advisory practice working with boards and leaders across social housing and the wider purpose-led sector.
That practical foundation remains important. Governance is not an abstraction. It is how real institutions make choices, exercise power, protect purpose and remain answerable for the consequences.
Today, 21CHG is developing into a wider intellectual enterprise encompassing Governance Intelligence, the Holding the Line series, advisory practice, research and experiments in AI-native organisational design.
Mark Sweeny
Practitioner, adviser and author.
Mark has spent his career working where technology, organisational design and governance intersect. A former IT director and experienced governance consultant, he brings the instincts of a systems designer to the moral and practical questions facing boards.
His current work explores how institutions can become more intelligent without surrendering human responsibility, judgement or purpose.
